Los Medanos College – Seeking Lead and Assistant Instructors
Los Medanos College (LMC) is seeking experienced fire service professionals to serve as Lead and Assistant Instructors for our upcoming Spring Fire Academy.
We are looking for California State Fire Training-certified professionals who are interested in sharing their knowledge, field experience, and enthusiasm for the fire service with the next generation of firefighters.
This spring, LMC will build upon our valued partnership with Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (ConFire) to host the Academy at their training site. This partnership provides an exceptional environment for students to learn while connecting their classroom and academy training to the expectations, culture, and practices of the fire service.
We hope to engage firefighters and fire service professionals from throughout the region who can bring a range of experiences and perspectives to our recruits. Opportunities are available for both Lead Instructors and Assistant Instructors, making this an excellent way to contribute whether you are an experienced instructor or a fire professional interested in becoming more involved in training and education.
As an instructor, you will have the opportunity to:
- Share your professional expertise and real-world experience with Academy recruits
- Help develop skilled, disciplined, and service-minded future firefighters
- Work alongside other experienced fire service professionals
- Strengthen connections between regional fire agencies and Los Medanos College
- Inspire students as they prepare to enter the fire service
